I want to extend my sincerest sympathy to everyone connected to the Katmai tragedy that occurred earlier this week. On Wednesday morning, the 93-foot pot cod commercial fishing vessel lost steering, took on water, and rolled in two-story seas in the Bering Sea. Five crewmembers were killed, four were rescued, and two are still missing.
The harrowing account of the tragedy can be read by following this link to an article in the Seattle Times.
As you all know, topics surrounding catastrophe at sea, deaths at sea, and lost fishermen are among those that my family and I hold most near and dear to our hearts.
Again, it’s with a heavy heart that I extend our sincerest sympathy and prayers to everyone with ties to this disaster.
