The Best Musical Performance I’ve Attended (Plinky)

I am literally laughing out loud at this Plinky writing prompt. I have done an inventory of the live musical performances I’ve attended since 1988–consulting both of my sisters to jog my memory–and it’s too funny. Here we go.

In the last 25 years, I’ve seen live…

George Michael
Beach Boys
The Nylons (2)
Barry Manilow
Jamie O’Neal
N’Sync
Kenny Rogers (2)
Dolly Parton
Cowboy Junkies
Alison Krauss and Union Station (3)
Nirvana
Crystal Gayle
Dan Seals
Air Supply (2)
Bette Midler
Indigo Girls (2)
Toby Keith (2)
James Taylor (2)
Oakridge Boys
Metallica (2)

The best live musical performance I’ve ever attended was….

James Taylor on round one. He performed about four days after 9/11, and he provided much comfort and familiarity.

Kenny Rogers on round two. In addition to playing all the old favorites, he was absolutely hilarious. I’m still laughing!

    • I know! I was on the fence whether to include them as I wasn’t impressed with Rascal Flatts at the time (didn’t they open for Toby Keith?) and I don’t remember Terri Clark, lol!!

    • Ha ha! That was from 1988. I went with Angie M. Her brother, Pat, and his girlfriend took us. It was after his big solo debut following Wham! LOL!

  1. Where did he play? I dont remember that at all. Terri Clark opened for Toby Keith the year we went with dawn Michelle.

    • I think it was at the Tacoma Dome! I’ll have to ask Angie. I think Tammy R. went too with someone. I’ll ask! Everyone showed up at school the next day with George Michael t-shirts, ha ha!
