I started writing professionally exactly ten years ago, and I started this blog surrounding the life of our five-generation commercial fishing family almost four years ago. The blog has been a lot of fun and it’s kept me writing when my other gigs slowed down after the birth of my children and the taking on of bigger and more involved fishing businesses and operations.
A couple of years ago I thought it would be fun to redesign this blog and I’ve finally decided that time is now. It’s not going to be a huge change (so if you’re like me and dread change, don’t worry!). But I hope the end result will be a tighter, more efficient, and functional look.
I am going to continue to work within WordPress themes rather than go totally out on my own because I enjoy the WordPress blogging community, but I think the result will still be worth it even dealing with design restrictions.
Anyway, the point of this is to let you know not to be concerned if you come to my blog and you can’t find it. I’m still here and not going anywhere! We will just have to take it down while we work on the new look. I certainly wouldn’t want a half-done blog out on the Internet! We will start working on it next week and I am not sure how long it will take or how long the blog will be down. I really hope not long.
